Lanzarote Nature Beaches

Playa de Papagayo

The unspoilt coastline with its numerous stretches of beach is part of the nature reserve of the Natural Monument of the Ajaches, very recommendable to see it.

Wonderful views from the cliffs. Great hiking trails with rock steps down to the beach.

Due to its special form of a shell, Papagayo beach is very well protected from the wind and is therefore very crowded.  Less frequented and perfect for relaxing is the Cera Bay at the north.

Playa de la Cera

It`s the smallest cove of the Papagayo coast and it is very hidden. A pure and unspoilt natural beauty.
A destination for individualists. It can only be reached on foot.

Caleta del Congrio

An impressive environment, framed by high rock walls. A large beach with crystal clear waters. Ideal for swimming and sunbathing. During low tide, you can take long walks along the beach, with direct views of the neighbouring islands of Lobos and Fuerteventura.

Playa de Famara

The most popular beach for surfing, kitesurfing and hang gliding. At low tide, there are great opportunities for long walks along the 5,000 metre long beach. Swimming is discouraged due to high waves and strong currents.

Caletón Blanco – A natural beach for individualists

Not very frequented. Wonderful for hiking and sunbathing in the white sand.

Los Charcones – Natural water pool, near Playa Blanca

For swimming and splashing around. Please watch out for the stones. An experience for individualists.

Playa Janubio – black lava beach

A sea with waves several metres high. A natural experience. You can feel the intrinsic strength of the sea.  Swimming is not recommended due to the high waves and strong currents.  The salt production of Lanzarote are nearby.

The beach is an antique volcanic crater with a unique view of the famous Charco Verde, which is included in the Natural Park of the volcanoes, in the middle of the black lava sand.
The El Golfo cove is located next to the fishing village with the same name. In the restaurants in the area you can eat fresh fish and enjoy a spectacular sunset during dinner.
